Jim Blackwood, Jr. grew up in the Southern California desert and lived on both sides of the country before settling in Portland, Oregon where it is cool and wet. He was a successful information systems manager and senior policy director for a Portland city commissioner. Jim embarked on his third career as an author in 2017 though his Whippet is sure his real job is to throwing the frisbee on demand.

Jim has a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies focused on political science and religion. He is a student of Zen Buddhism and baseball, which he feels are pretty much the same thing. When not at his keyboard, he can be found in his garden, at local rock clubs ignoring he is often the oldest person in the room or in his third-row seats with a cold beer in hand watching his Portland Pickles baseball team.

Jim and his wife, Sally, live high atop Mt. Tabor with their dogs, and way too many baseball hats.
